In a dictatorship, the people are not the main power. Meaning, they are ruled by a dictator, of who they have to follow order and rules made by him/her.
An example is Adolf Hitler of Germany.

A democracy is run by the people. The people are superior and have powers to choose their government or representatives.
An example is India (the largest democracy in the world).

Hope this helps!

Politics is one of the most important parts of our modern society.

And there are many types of political ideologies present in our political ecosystem.

Dictatorship and the democracy are most popular ideologies among them.

Dictatorship is a type of autocratic governing system where all the political powers are obtained by a single personality or authority, and the public demands are almost negligible.

But,the democracy is completely opposite of the dictatorship. In the democracy the public choose their own political leaders and the public demands are the most important factor.
