Monocotyledonae (Monocot) :-

  1. In the seed of Monocotyledonaeic plant one cotyledon is found.
  2. The roots of these plant are not developed.
  3. The plant flower has three parts.
  4. In the vascular pool, cambium doesn't exist.

Dicotyledonae (Dicot) :-

  1. In the seed of dicotyledonaeic plant two cotyledons are found.
  2. In the vascular pool, cambium exists.
  3. The flower of the plant has multiples of four or five.
  4. These dicots plants have secondary growth.

Monocotyledon:

  • Monocotyledon have adventitious root system. Seeds have only one cotyledon and flowers are usually trimerous.
  • Vascular bundles in the stem are scattered and numerous. There is no cambium and there is no secondary growth in the stem and are hollow.
  • Seeds germination is normally hypogeal.

Dicotyledon:

  • Dicotyledon has tap root system and seeds have 2 cotyledons, leaves have reticulate ventilation.
  • Its flowers are complete and pentamerous, vascular bundle are less in number and circular in shape.
  • Cambium is present and seed germination can be either epigeal or hypogeal.
