Differentiate between different types of cells present in blood??
Answers
Answer:
RBC: they are the most abundant type of cells in the blood. they are bowl-shaped and lack a nucleus, hence can easily squeeze through narrow vessels. Their many role in the body is to carry out Hemoglobin, which helps carry oxygen from the lungs to the rest of the body. RBCs appear red due to the presence of hemoglobin in them
WBC: they are much fewer in number and protect your body from infection and hence are an integral part of the body’s immune system. There are five different types of WBCs with very characteristic functions, namely: Neutrophil, Basophil, Eosinophil, Monocyte and Lymphocyte. Platelets: Unlike RBC and WBC, these are small fragments of cells. Platelets help the blood clotting process during any injury or a site of broken skin. They clot by gathering at the site of an injury, sticking to the lining of the injured blood vessel, and forming a platform on which blood coagulation can occur. This results in the formation of a fibrin clot, which covers the wound and prevents blood from leaking out. Fibrin also forms the initial scaffolding upon which new tissue forms, thus promoting healing.
