There are three types of plastids. They are:

1. Chloroplast- Have only green pigments which give colour to the stems and leaves.

2. Leucoplast- Have non-coloured pigments. They act as storage sheds of starches,lipids and proteins

3. Chromoplasts- They have coloured pigments which give colour to various fruits or flowers of the plant.
