Differentiate between diffusion and osmosis...???

The motion of molecules is through the semi-permeable membrane in osmosis, whereas in diffusion motion is direct and does not require a semi-permeable membrane. Osmosis undertakes in liquid medium only, whereas the process of diffusion undertakes in any medium (solid, liquid and gases).

diffusion means to get mixed with ( especially used for gases)
