Hello dear..Here is your answer
Difference between diffusion and osmosis
1. Diffusion can operate in ay medium while Osmosis operates only in a liquid medium.
2. Diffusion is applicable to all types of substances: solids, liquids or gases while Osmosis is applicable to only solvent part of a solution.
3. diffusion does not require any semipermeable membrane while semipermeable membrane is a must for the operation of osmosis.
Hope it helps

Difference between diffusion and osmosis-
First about diffusion-
1. Liquids and gases can diffuse over considerable distances.
2. Movement of the molecules of solute or solvent.
3. Rapid in gases, but slow in solutions.
4. transport from high to low concentration along a gradient.
5. Occurs with or without a non-living permeable membrane.
6. Defination.
Now about Osmosis-
1. Water only transported over a short distance.
2. Movement of the molecule of only water as a solvent.
3. Slow process.
4. transport of water from a solution of low concentration to that of a high concentration.
5. Either a living or non-living semi-permeable membrane needed.
6. Defination.
