displacement is the shortest distance between two points where as distance is the full length of space covered between two points.

displacement is a vector quantity as it shows time as well as magnitude.
distance is scaler quantity.
HOPE IT WILL HELP

.... see the shortest distance is displacement and it in straight line..... The path travelled by a body from start to end is called distance.
The shortest distance from start to end is called displacement.
Distance cannot be negative.
But, displacement can be negative , positive as well as zero .
distance is scalar quantity but displacement is vector quantity.
distance can be of straight as well as non straight path.
but displacement will always be of
straight path:)
I hope it will help you
All the best

ajay8596: just keep in mind these points for distance and displacement
ajay8596: I cannot clear ur doubt without showing example and this is not possible
aaravvarshney: yes u r saying right that don't make simple things critical but here is the need to clear our confusions and ideas about some basic points in phisics
ajay8596: so just ask ur school teacher about this he /she will explain u clearly and you will too say that displacement is shortest distance in straight line
aaravvarshney: physics
ajay8596: OK?
aaravvarshney: you also have to ask your teacher as it is a basic in physics
ajay8596: I think u r not learning minded Person...u r here to correct others... just do whatever you want but never disturb me again with ur stupid doudts
aaravvarshney: okk as ur wish. its your issue okkk
ajay8596: u will know soon
