1.Distance is the actual path covered by a body whereas displacement is the shortest path covered by the body.
2.Distance is a scalar quantity but displacement is a vector quantity.
3.Distance has magnitude but no direction whereas displacement has both.
4.Distance is never zero with time but displacement may be.
5.Distance is always equal or greater than displacement but displacement is always equal or less than distance.
6 . distance and displacement are measured in m/s .

sandhya73: distance and displacement are not same displacement means to find area and distance means find how distance travelled by object.

Distance:-

Distance is the length of the actual path traversed by a body, irrespective of its direction of motion.

Distance between two given given points may be same or different paths chosen.

It is a scalar quantity.

Distance covered is always positive or zero.

Displacement:-

Displacment is the shortest distance between the initial and final positions of a body in a given direction.

Displacement between two given points is always same.

It is a vector quantity.

Displacement covered may be positive, negative or zero.
