Consider 3 points A, B and C.
Where , C lies between A and B
if your starting point is A and ending point is C
Then your distance travelled is AB + BC.
And displacement is AC.
Definition -
Distance - Total magnitude of path travelled by a body from initial to final point.
Displacement - magnitude of length between initial and final position of a body.
