The main difference between electrovalent and covalent bond is that electrovalent bond is formed when two atoms are in an electrostatic attraction whereas covalent bond is formed when two atoms share their electrons with each other

Bonds formed between metals and non-metals are ionic or electrovalent bonds. AND the chemical bond that is formed between two combining atoms by mutual sharing of one or more pairs of electrons is called a covalent bonds.
