Differentiate between epidermal and cork cells.

The epidermis is permeable in nature,it is used as a protection against water loss and gas exchange and also helps in absorbing mineral and water. The cork, on the other hand , is a waterproof protective layer which can be found on the cork trees and consists of dead cells a d this is impermeable in nature.

➡Has no secondary deposition.

➡Made up of sclerenchymatous cells.
➡Found in stem and roots of old woody trees.
➡Has a secondary deposition of a chemical called suberin which makes it impervious to gases.
