Endosmosis is the movement of water into the cell whereas exosmosisis the movement of water out of the cell. Endosmosis occurs when cell are placed in hypotonic solutions . exosmosis occurs when cell are placed in hypertonic solution.

Exomosis- Flow of material ( eg: water, gases) from the higher concentration of water inside the cell to the outside environment, which posses lower concentration of water. Occurs due to high wall pressure (applied at the Center of cell, opposite to the direction of turgour pressure) as compared to Turgour pressure (applied on the cell wall)

Eg: flow of water from a living cell when kept in a sugar solution.

Endosmosis- flow of water or other materials from the higher concentration of water outside the cell to inside the cell, which suffers from lower concentration of water within  the cell. Occurs due to higher turgour pressure than wall pressure,

Eg: flow of water, inside the cell when kept in water.
