INTERNAL FERTILIZATION

1. The process of fusion of male and female gamete (sperm and egg) taking place inside the body of the female, is called as internal fertilization.

2.Less number of gametes (sperms) are released, which gets deposited inside the female body.

3.Only male gametes are released or discharged into the female genital tract.

4.Mammals (including humans), Reptiles, Birds, Bryophytes and Tracheophytes.

EXTERNAL FERTILIZATION

1. The process of fusion of male and female gamete (sperm and egg) taking place in the external environment (in water bodies) and so-called as external fertilization.  

2.Numerous gametes (sperms and egg) are released into the environment. These gametes are of male as well as of female.

3.Both male and female release or discharge their gametes in their external surrounding.  

4.Amphibians, Algae, Fish, etc.
