Answer:

A food web consists of many food chains. A food chain only follows just one path as animals find food. eg: A hawk eats a snake, which has eaten a frog, which has eaten a grasshopper, which has eaten grass. A food web shows the many different paths plants and animals are connected.

Explanation:

  • A food chain is very simple, while a food web is very complex and consists of a number of food chains. In a food chain, each organism has only one consumer or producer. For example, a deer eats grass and a tiger eat the deer. In a food web, a consumer may eat a number of different producers
  • A food chain always starts with plant life and ends with an animal. Plants are called producers because they are able to use light energy from the Sun to produce food (sugar) from carbon dioxide and water. Animals cannot make their own food so they must eat plants and/or other animals. They are called consumers.
