Difference Between Vapor and Gas. A gas refers to a substance that has a single defined thermodynamic state at room temperature whereas a vapor refers to a substance that is a mixture of two phases at room temperature, namely gaseous and liquid phase.

Richap1: what is thermodynamics.

cloudy diffuse matter whose actual state was solid or liquid before becoming a vapour due to the environmental conditions is called vapour

while there many gases present in the air e.g. oxygen , nitrogen, etc. there are many gases present which are only available in the form of gas only and not in any other state

hope this helps you
