Vapour only co-exists in equilibrium with solid or liquid phases, whereasgases don't. Vapour is the gaseous state of a substance in equilibrium with its liquid(usually) or solid state. So the substance is actually a solid or liquid at room temperature. Gas and vapour are not essentially different in properties.
