if the pollination takes place in between different flowers of same plant it's geitonogamy while if pollination takes place in between different flowers from different plants it's xenogamy.
geitonogamy causes inbreeding depression because the gametes are genetically similar and therefore no variation occurs.

Geitonogamy way of reproduction circles around the same plant or flower because the exchange of pollen grains happens around the stigma and the anther of the same plant or flower. Xenogamy differs from this as it involves the exchange of anther and stigma happens between different flowers.
Among these two, Geitonogamy technique causes inbreeding depression because it breeds within the same plant causing its breeding capacities to decline whereas plants having xenogamy way of reproduction have healthy breeding.
