Hemolysis or haemolysis (/hiːˈmɒlɪsɪs/), also known by several other names, is the rupturing (lysis) of red blood cells (erythrocytes) and the release of their contents (cytoplasm) into surrounding fluid (e.g. blood plasma).

Turgidity :The state of being turgid or swollen, especially due to high fluid content. Supplement. Turgidity is essential in plant cells to make them keep standing upright. Plant cells that lose much water have less turgor pressure, and tend to become flaccid.
