Difference between xerophytes and halophytes. – Halophytes live under conditions of high salt content of soil or water. Osmotic pressure of soil is higher than that of ordinary plants roots, breathing root/pneumatophores. Halophytes plant root exert greater osmotic pressure than that of ordinary plants.
