the main difference between mesopotamian and indian drainage is that mesopotamian liked to dig canals, so all their mess, garbage directly went to the canals, i think canals were the main drainage systems in mesopotamia. indus valley constructed special drains, canals could have been used as both drainage and water usage from the rivers, while the indus drains were not connected to the rivers but soak pits or tanks where the water was empty into, the soak pits or filter consisting of netted bricks allowed solid waste to separate from the liquid waste and solid waste was then disposed by the municipal workers.
