HIMALAYAN RIVERS

1) the are snow fed and are therefore perennial rivers.
2) found in northern india.

eg - ganga , yamuna


DECCAN RIVERS

1) they are rain fed and are therefore sesonal rivers.
2) found in southern india.

II. THESE RIVERS RECEIVE WATER FROM RAIN AS WELL AS FROM MELTED SNOW FROM THE LOFTY MOUNTAINS.

III. THE HIMALAYAN RIVERS HAVE LONGER COURSES FROM THEIR SOURCE TO THE SEA.

DECCAN RIVERS

I. A LARGE NUMBER OF THE DECCAN RIVERS ARE SEASONAL, AS THEIR FLOW IS DEPENDENT ON RAINFALL.

II. THE DECCAN RIVERS HAVE SHORTER AND SWALLOWER COURSES.

III. MOST OF THE RIVERS OF DECCAN, INDIA ORIGINATE IN THE WESTERN GHATS AND FLOW TOWARDS THE BAY OF BENGAL.
