The Himalayan rivers form big deltas at their mouths. The Ganga-Brahmaputra delta is the largest in the world. Some of the Peninsular rivers, such as the Narmada and the Tapi form estuaries. Other rivers such as the Mahanadi, the Godavari, theKrishna and the Cauvery form deltas.

Himalayan rivers have more depth than peninsular rivers. Himalayan rivers have no obstacles for traveling but peninsular rivers have many cataracts.

arsenicnabeelk: And also that Himalayan rivers flow throughout the year as they are supplied with the melting of the glaciers whereas the peninsular rivers flow during the monsoon or in the retreating monsoon in some places and hence are temporary
