Homo lactic fermentation is a type of fermentation in which only one product is formed like lactic acid.But in Hetro lactic fermentation more than one.

When, "one molecule of glucose" yields "two molecules of lactic acid" by the process of fermentation, then it is called homo fermentation or homolactic fermentation, whereas
When, "one molecule of glucose" yields "carbon dioxide and ethanol" along with "lactic acid" by the process of fermentation, which is done following a phosphoketolase pathway, then it is called hetero fermentation or heterolactic fermentation.
