The mixture which has uniform composition is called homogeneous mixture. The constituents can be separated only by chemical methods. Ex- Salt and water. The mixture which has non-uniform composition is called heterogeneous mixture. The constituents can be separated by chemical as well as physical methods. Ex- muddy water.

DIFFERENCE BETWEEN HOMOGENEOUS AND HETEROGENEOUS MIXTURES -
HOMOGENEOUS MIXTURES - In these types of mixtures components mixed are uniformly distributed throughout the mixtures.These mixtures are also called as solutions.
Ex - rainwater , vinegar, sugar solution etc
HETEROGENEOUS MIXTURES - Heterogeneous mixtures are those which have non-uniform composition.
Ex - Seawater, chalk powder and water mixture etc
