The difference between the Hypocotyl And Epicotyl is explained below :
Hypocotyl:
● 1 - The part of the embryonal acid which exists below the cotyledon in a dicot embryo us called the Hypocotyl .
● 2 - It is the part of embryonal axis in between cotyledon node & redicle.
● 3 - In epigeal germination Hypocotyl elongates so the cotyledon comes out of the soil.
● 4 - the terminal end of Hypocotyl is a redicle.
Epicotyl:
● 1 - The part of the embryonal axis which exists above the cotyledon in a dicot embryo is known as the Epicotyl.
● 2 - It is the part of embryonal axis in between plumule & cotyledonary node.
● 3 - In Hypogeal germination Epicotyl elongated , so that cotyledons remain in the soil.
● 4 - The terminal end if Epicotyl is a plumule.
