Differentiate between if and if-else statement.

The if statement doesn't have else part means in if statement it will only specify that it is true or false. But in if else statement if the statement is false then it is specified in else part.

A condition still return a boolean output. an"else if" block leads to a further level of nesting . in case the "if" condition is false, than the 'else if' condition is evaluated in a sequential manner till a match is found in case all condition fail , then the action defined in the ' else' clause in executed .
