The main difference is that the crystals in an igneous rock is shaped as it crystallized from a melt. The structures in a metamorphic rock are earlier strucures (crystals, sedimentary fragments, etc.) that have been deformed or recrystallized due to heat or pressure, or some chemical change.

Igneous Rocks
These rocks are formed by the cooling and solidification of molten magma flowing from the interior of earth during volcanic eruption.Metamorphic Rocks
Metamorphic rocks are formed out of Sedimentary and Igneous Rocks under extreme heat and pressure conditions. Thus, the Metamorphic Rocks are the altered forms of Igneous and Sedimentary Rocks.Granite for example changes into Gneiss and Coal into Diamond. bro mark me as brainliestSimilar questions
