Tourism is when people visit places in order to enjoy the culture, local delicacies, etc of the place. Tourism can be of the following types:

  • Domestic tourism: When residents of a country visit destinations within the country. They can visit a place in the same state they live in or in other states. For example, a person from Rajasthan goes to visit Jammu.
  • Inbound tourism: When people who are not residents of a country visit that country. Inbound tourism is with respect to the country that is being visited. For example, people from India can visit Europe. So, in this case, Europe is said to have inbound tourism.
  • Outbound tourism: When a country is visited by the residents of another country, the tourism is said to be outbound. This is with respect to the people who are visiting. For example, a person from Europe comes to visit India. Here, Europe is said to have outbound tourism.
