Explanation:The sounds of frequency less than 20 Hz is called infrasonic sound. The infrasonic sounds have frequency below the lower limit of human hearing i.e. 20 Hz. The sound of frequency more than 20,000 Hz is called ultrasonic sound. Ultrasonic sounds have a frequency above the upper limit of human hearing.

Applications are

1) Objects with parts that are difficult to reach, for example, spiral tubes and electronic components, the process of ultrasonic cleaning is used.

2)Ultrasonography : Medical ultrasound is a diagnostic imaging technique based on it. It is used for the imaging of internal body structures.

3)Detection of cracks:  Ultrasound is used to detect cracks in the metallic components that are used in the construction.
