Answer:

Explanation:

Intensive and Extensive are the two types of farming practices which are carried out on the agricultural land to increase its productivity.

Under the intensive farming advanced agricultural techniques as well as higher inputs are used to increase the yield. In simple words under this type of farming there is a high usage of capital and labor in comparison to the land area.

Whereas an extensive farming aims at bringing more and more land under cultivation in order to increase the output. Under this technique lower inputs like capital and labor are involved when comparedto the land area in usage.

The following are some of the differences between intensive and extensive farming:

  • Intensive farming can be easily be carried out in a densely populated area as it requires a very small area of land for cultivation but the cost of such land might be costly because of densely population. Whereas  extensive farming is practiced in areas which has huge agricultural land and are even less expensive.
  • Under the Intensive farming, the farm lands are situated  near the market area, which reduces both the transportation and distribution cost. On the contrary under the extensive farming, farm lands are  situated in remote areas, which makes the  transportation and sales a costly affair.

     Hope this helps.
