Differentiate between intermontane plateau and volcanic plateau.

1 Answer. A plateau, surrounded by mountains on all sides, it is called an Intermontane plateau. Whereas volcanic plateaus are produced by the lava which flows down from volcanic eruptions. Deccan plateau is the example of volcanic plateau.
