In chemistry, an ionic compound is a chemical compound composed of ions held together by electrostatic forces termed ionic bonding.

covalent compound is made when two or more nonmetal atoms bond by sharing valence electrons. The shared valence electrons between two nonmetal atoms is called a covalent bond. Covalent bonds are formed when two atoms begin sharing electrons.

Heya!!Here is your answer friend ⤵⤵

➡Ionic compounds-the compounds that are formed by the gain or loose of electrons from an atom , it is called ionic compound .

➡These compounds have high melting and boiling points .

➡They are good conductors of electricity .

➡They have strong forces of attraction .

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

➡covalent compounds - the compounds formed by the sharing of electron pairs are called covalent compounds .

➡These compounds have low melting and boiling points.

➡they are bad conductors of electricity .

➡The intermolecular forces of attraction are weak .

Hope it helps you ✌✌
