differentiate between isotopes and isobars. write any three applications of isotopes.
I will be very glad if someone answer it

heya! sorry for late answer.
Isotopes means they have same atomic number but different no.of atomic mass( different no. of proteins)
For example, in carbon, carbon have three isotopes. they are namely -
C12, C13and C14. In all these atoms, the carbon have same 6 electrons but they have 6, 7, 8 neutrons respectively so they have 12, 13,14 gm as mass.
[This example is am going to give is my own example so forgive me if it is clumsy] I give one example. Isotopes are like friends in the same class but with different weights. They have same age but different weights.
Next, isobars are atoms that have same mass but different atomic number. Like students in different grades have same mass. For example,
atomic mass of argon (Ar) is 40 gm but atomic number is 18.
calcium has atomic mass of 40 gm but atomic number is 20.
So,calcium and potassium are considered as isobars.
Hope it helps.
