Differentiate between khadar and bhangar soil.

  • Bhangar
  1. The plain formed by older alluvium is called bhangar.
  2. Large part of the northern plains is formed of older alluvium.
  3. It lies above the flood plains of rivers and present terrace like features.
  4. Soil in this region contains calcareous deposits. They are known as kankar.
  5. It is less fertile
  • Khadar
  1. The plains formed by the newer alluvium is called khadar.
  2. This plains covers the flood plains
  3. It lies in the flood plains of the river and does not present terrace like feature.
  4. Soil in this plains does not contains calcareous deposits.
  5. It is very fertile.
