Differentiate between Kharif & Rabi crops.​

Kharif crops-

1. they are autumn or monsoon crops.

2. they are sown in June-july .

3. they are harvested in September-october.

4. they require warm and wet weather.

5. they need a lot of water

6. Eg - rice,bajra,jowar,maize, groundnut etc

Rabi crops-

1. the sowing of this crop starts in winter season

2. they are sown in October - November

3. they are harvested in March - April

4. they require dry and cold weather

5. they do not need a lot of water

6. Eg - wheat,barley,gram,pea, mustard etc

Kharif crops are the crops which are sown at the beginning of the rainy season, e.g. between April and May. Rabi crops are the crops that are sown at the end of monsoon or at the beginning of winter season, e.g. between September and October. Major Rabi crops are wheat, gram, peas, barley etc.
