Differentiate between ligaments and tendons ?

Ligaments

1. A ligament is a fibrous connective tissue which attaches bone to bone.

 ligaments try to keep the structures together and stable.

3. It is tough and inelastic

4. The injuries are 
Sprains, torn ligament


Tendon

A tendon is a fibrous connective tissue which attaches muscle to bone

2. 
A tendon serves to move the bone or structure.

3. It is strong and elastic

4. The injuries are
Tendonitis, Avulsion, Tenosynovitis

TENDON:
1) It is strong extensible attachment of a skeleton muscle to a bone.
2) It contain thick parallel bundles of white collagen fibres.
3) it is non elastic band.
4) Fibroblasts lie in almost continuous rows.
LIGAMENT:
1) it is the of dense connective fibres which connects a bone with another bone.
2)it contains both white collagen and yellow elastic fibres running in different directions.
3)it is elastic band.
4) Fibroblasts lie scattered.
