Difference

  • Manure is a natural substance obtained by the decomposition of plant and animal wastes whereas fertiliser is an organic compound.
  • Manure is not very rich in essential plant nutrients like NPK whereas fertilisers are very rich in plant nutrients.
  • A manure provides a lot of humus to soil whereas fertiliser does not provide any humus to the soil.
  • A manure is absorbed slowly by the plants because it is insoluble in water whereas fertiliser is soluble in water.
  • Manure can be prepared in the fields whereas fertilisers are prepared in factories.
