Metals are the elements which exhibit the highest degree of metallic behaviour is known as metals, on the contrary Nonmetals are such elements which do not possess any metallic behaviour, and Metalloids are those elements, that possess some of the properties like metal, while some like nonmetal.

Metal shows the property of malleability while non- metals are non- malleable. Metals are generally those substances that have a shiny surface and thus are lustrous whereas non-metals have non-shiny surface, appearance and thus falls under the category of Non-lustrous substances. Metals are strong and hard when used mixtures called alloys whereas non-metals are usually weak and soft. Metals can be bent and stretched (Malleable and Ductile) whereas non-metals are usually brittle and break easily when tried to break or bent. Metals are good conductors of heat and electricity whereas non-metals are bad conductors of heat and electricity.
