Metals have lustre. Mercury and gallium are an exception. Non-metals do not have lustre, Iodine and diamond are exceptions.

Metals are solids at room temperature. Mercury is an exception being liquid. Non-metals are either solid or gaseous. Bromine is an exception being in a liquid state.

Metals generally possess the property of hardness. Non-metals do not possess the property of hardness.

They are ductile and malleable. They are non-ductile and malleable.

Metals are good conductors of heat and electricity. Non-metals are bad conductors of heat and electricity except graphite
