✿ DIFFERENCE BETWEEN MITOSIS AND MEIOSIS:-

MITOSIS:-

It occurs in somatic cells.

It accounts for body growth and regeneration of injured parts.

Only two daughter cells are formed from the parent cell.

The number of chromosomes in the daughter cells remains the same as in the parent cell. (diploid).

MEIOSIS:-

It occurs in reproductive cells.

It accounts for the formation of gametes in sexual reproduction.

Four daughter cells are formed from the parent cell.

The number of chromosomes in the daughter cells is reduced to half as compared with parents. (haploid).

Hope it helps...:-)

HLO MATE HERE IS UR ANSWER

. MITOSIS

. It occurs in both haploid and diploid cells

. It occurs in somatic cells

. Nucleus divide once

. Daughter cells are identical

. Two daughter cells are formed

. Prophase is simple

. Pairing of chromosomes does not occurs

. Both chiasmata and crossing over are absent

. Centromere undergoes division in anaphase

. Daughter chromosomes move to opposite poles

. The chromosomal number of daughter nucleoli is unchanged

. Duration of time is less

. MEIOSIS

. It occurs in diploid cells

. It occurs in reproductive cells

. Nucleus divide twice

. Daughter cells not identical

. Four daughter cells are formed

. Prophase is complicated and divide into 5 sub phases

. Homologous chromosomes pair to form bivalents

. Both chiasmataand crossing over occurs between non- sister chromatids

. Centrometer donot divide in anaphase I but divides in anaphaseII

. Bivalents are disjuncted to opposite poles in anaphase I

. The chromosomal number of daughter nucleoli is reduced to half

. Duration of time is more
