In mitosis at the stage of cytokinesis at the time of cytoplasm division a cell furrow is formed in animal cells and cell plate is formed in plant cells.

Mitosis in animals: = asters are formed
= cytokinesis by furrowing of cytoplasm
=occurs in most tissues throughout the body.
Mitosis in plants: = asters not formed
=cytokinesis by cell plate formation
= occurs mainly in growing tips and sides of plant
