Copying means just copy the particular data at another location and it remains intact at its previous location, while moving data means copying same data into another location and it gets removed from it's original location.

In copying a file you create the same file in another location. So the same information exists in both the locations.

When moving a file you move the same file/data to another location. So the file is moved to another location and the file exists only in the destination location and not in the source location.
