Answer:

Nature and landscape drawings are of a scene, where still-lifes are of inanimate objects. With nature, there is usually one focus or one main idea being the subject, where still-lifes usually have multiple. Take the common “bowl of fruit” example. When drawing this, you pay close attention to the details in the source material, and try to make your interpretation match. Still-lifes are generally not stylized either. Nature and landscapes are usually up to interpretation, with artists changing different things about the scene to emphasize different things. Landscapes are usually full to every edge of the paper or surface too, where still-lifes usually just have things going on in the middle.

A Still Life painting is usually a picture of things, fruits and vegetables sitting in an aesthetic arrangement upon a table. Natural or artificial light may be used.

A Landscape is usually painted Plein Air or outside. It is usually wider than it is high unless it is a city-scape. It uses natural light. Plein Air; denoting or in the manner of a 19th-century style of painting outdoors, or with a strong sense of the open air, that became a central feature of French impressionism.

A Portrait is usually taller than it is wide and is a picture of a person or animal, posed in natural or artificial light.
