differentiate between placenta and uterus

placenta and uterus are two different things
uterus is the womb which is of the size of fist it is a place where implantation of embryo occurs
while placenta is the connection between mother and the developing embryo it is made up of tissues surrounded by blood cappilaries

they both r different from each other

placenta is the organic connection between the developing fetous and the mother. where as the uterus is the place where the developing fetous is present attached to it.

placenta provides all the nutrients that is required for the fetous, excretes all the waste produced by fetous and help in developing. it even secretes 4 hormones. uterus does not secrete any kind of hormones nor helps in its development but keeps the developing fetous away from damage like bleeding,cuts etc
