Differentiate between primary and secondary sexual characters
Answers
Hello there!
Here is the answer to your question:
Primary sexual characters are the reproductive organs, either penis or vagina. These organs are formed based on the presence of a Y-chromosome. If there is a Y-chromosome, then a penis (male) will be formed. If there is no Y-chromosome, meaning only 2 copies of X-chromosome, then a vagina (female) will be formed.
Secondary sexual characters are those formed as a response to hormone signals such testosterone, and oestrogen.
Testosterone is responsible for the formation of body hair, increase in shoulder width and muscle formation. Testorone is high in males.
Oestrogen is responsible for the deposition of fats in chest (formation of female breasts) and broadening of hips. Oestrogen (estrogen) is high in females.
I hope this helped!
in girls breasts begin to develop whereas in boys ,facial hairs ,moustaches and beards begin to grow .hair starts growing on the chest of boys .in the both boys and girls hair grows in the armpits and at the genital region they are called secondary sexual characters
The sex organs by which children are identified as boys or girls at birth represent primary sexual characters
