Primitive subsistence agriculture :-
This type of farming is practiced in a few distant/remote areas of India mainly in hilly areas. Primitive subsistence agriculture is practiced on a small piece of land with the help of primitive tools like dao, hoe and digging sticks,l.
This type of farming depends upon monsoon. Natural fertility of the soil and suitability of other environmental conditions for the crop grown.
It is known as Jhoom in Assam and Onam in kerala.
It is also known as Slash and burn agriculture because :-
Farmer use the land for cultivation of their crops, but when the soil losts it's fertility they burn that land and then move towards another land. So, that the land regain it's fertility again.
