The basic difference between a Prokaryotic and Eukaryotic cells is, that a Prokaryotic cell lacks a distinct nucleus or a organized nuclear structure and other organelles due to the absence of internal membranes, whereas Eukaryotic cells have a nucleus enclosed within a nuclear envelope and thus have a organized nuclear structure.
