There are several differences betweenthe two, but the biggest distinctionbetween them is that eukaryotic cellshave a distinct nucleus containing thecell's genetic material, whileprokaryotic cells don't have a nucleus and have free-floating genetic material instead.

- Size of cell is generally large
- Nuclear region is well defined and surrounded by nuclear membrane
