The difference between convection and advection heat transfers. If you have ever grabbed the metal handle of pot being heated over a campfire, you have painfully experienced heat transfer. There are 4 ways in which heat is transferred from one object to another: conduction radiation, convedtion and advection.

Advection fog is caused my moist moving over a cool surface while radiation fog is caused by the loss of daytime heating on cool nights. The wind causes the moist air to move for advection fog to form while radiation fog forms under calm winds.
