when reflection takes place on a regular,smooth and polished surface ,it is called regular reflection.The surface of an object like mirror is highly polished .so,when a ray of light falls on it ,it gets reflected in same direction.However,some objects do not have such a smooth surface it gets reflected back in any direction.This kind of reflection is called irregular reflection
